now and I had a great time. Ate well, had fun taking my Mom to the Bowery Ballroom to see Starling and Buffalo Tom, and managed to see many friends along the way!

I’m heading to New York for the weekend. Back Monday, then off to Philadelphia overnight on a business trip Tuesday.

eat breakfast with ex-roommate who showed up on my doorstep tonight
write down NYC friends’ phone numbers
go to airport on time
meet mother at airport

go to Bowery Ballroom to see Ian’s band play

Matt posted a link to Michael Moore’s latest letter in Metafilter today. He asked “is this fair?”

Nope. It’s not fair at all (as I said over there).

I haven’t seen it on any news site yet – but mafiaboy’s father has been arrested too. He was arrested for “conspiracy to commit an assault” – but it’s totally unrelated to his son’s extracurricular activities.

It goes like this: the FBI and RCMP suspect mafiaboy – they get a wiretap on his house – his dad and some other guy talk on the phone about assaulting someone – they don’t just say “I’d like to kick that guy in the ass” but talk about plans and weapons etc. – the RCMP arrests the father.

Reminds me of the old line from Hunter S Thompson: “when the going gets tough, the tough get weird. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.” [apologies if I’ve mangled that too much.]
