The New York Times

is running an editorial on yesterday’s ruling by the Supreme Court in the US on material that looks like, but is not, child pornography: Free Speech in Cyberspace. “These are critical times for establishing the scope of our freedoms on the Internet.” For better or worse, by default the US Court will be establishing those freedoms for many of us, not just Americans.

Brendan! My brother is 33 today, celebrating at home (I presume, I’m calling later) in Manhattan. Cool thing that I’d never seen before: when I did a search for “brendan boyle new york” in Google, at the top it gave me his phone number and (old) address. And a handy map to his old place.
