The famous

April 26, 2000 by Michael Boyle

Bathroom Bolshevik poster is available for sale online! Except that it’s not humour, it was a serious ad. I’ve seen the original, lovingly preserved, at my friend Kurt’s.

Back again.

April 26, 2000 by Michael Boyle

Philadelphia was actually quite nice, although I didn’t get downtown. But I saw our office there for the first time, which is someplace called… ummm… “Manayunk”.

  • The new Megnut looks great – very subdued but with nice touches like the little line connecting the menu item to the main content area. [I’m on a mac, btw]
  • It’s good to read that Heather is slowly on the mend.
  • David seems to be a little unsure of things.
  • Jish is still away.

Stinking powerpoint.

April 24, 2000 by Michael Boyle

The brain-deadest app going. But it works, I grudgingly admit, and is pretty much a standard. All this for a big presentation tomorrow in Philadelphia. So – not much blogging today. I did, however, read that Roger Black hilarity.

On one hand, he’s right – there is a lot of crappy design around. But at the same time, it’s terribly obvious he hasn’t looked hard for the gems. Of which there are many. Or – even worse – it may be that his aesthetic and design sense are so entrenched in non-wired worlds that he doesn’t really understand modern web design.

And that stuff about “the Internet is not a venue for storytelling” is just sad.

One thing

that I can’t get enough of is when people blog old/offline friends of mine. Like when Aaron blogged an article by my friend Dahlia.

Starling

April 23, 2000 by Michael Boyle

Starling is sounding great, by the way. The crowd really liked them and I bought their CD “Sustainer” and it sounds really great. I’ve known Ian, the main writer and lead singer, on and off for about 10 years – and it’s really cool to see him moving forward so solidly with his band.
