in the New York Times today about research into how kids distinguish between “live” pets and things like robots, dolls, and Furbys. Sherry Turkle is doing the research, so it’s bound to be very good.
It may just be because
I’m too damn serious, but I think this week’s Tom Tomorrow is hilarious, and right on target. “We have so many options! / I don’t know whether I’d rather be trampled — or roasted alive!”

Take a look at

the flag flying atop the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. Pipilotti Rist has staged a coup!
I’m not a big fan
of ice cream, but occasionally it is exactly the perfect thing. Tonight I went to the depanneur (corner store) and found that they’re selling Ben & Jerry’s now, which is a Very New Thing in Canada. We’ve had a B&J shop on Maisonneuve for years, but at the grocery? Radical.
But that pales in comparison with the secret mission I’m going on tomorrow, which is also ice cream related. If I achieve success, I’ll post pics and details.
