A little weblog linking

July 4, 2000 by Michael Boyle

action today. Or, as the philosopher said, “inter-blog linky love”. My virtual neighbours seem to be rotating among a very limited group: this week it’s Prattle to the left of me, Utsler to my right. Which is great, both lovely sites for sure.

In other news, Swallowing Tacks again sports a new look, definitely making the argument that Elise is the most active re-designer of her personal site around. I always like what she does, though, so that’s not a complaint in the least.

Vanessa’s Eleven Seconds seems to be undergoing some radical re-branding.

I missed this

June 27, 2000 by Michael Boyle

the other day: Mindjack (a really nice web magazine) reports that Shift Magazine‘s future is uncertain. Frankly, it’s not a surprise, although the magazine is excellent and its publisher (former?) Andy Heintzman is a good guy (or so I recall – we were casually acquainted in University). A quick look at Shift’s parent company’s history tells the fuller story, no matter what spin he’d put on things.

I missed a couple of things

June 13, 2000 by Michael Boyle

yesterday. First is that Jezebel turned four, which is pretty damn cool. Congratulations, Heather.

The rest (for those of you that were here earlier)? Bowdlerized! Shamelessly removed. Suffice it to say that a) I think Jason Kottke has a point and I hope he isn’t shouted down; b) I like the weblogs and other personal sites that I visit regularly (mostly those on the right) as they are today; c) I don’t think that novelty or innovation is of greater value than many of the other qualities that good weblogs possess.
