MJ Milloy

MJ Milloy

linked and commented on the latest update to the Davey Hilton case today: Davey’s not going nowheres. For those who haven’t heard of this story, it’s about a lost appeal of the sentence that former world champion boxer Davey Hilton received following his conviction on mulitiple counts of sexual assault on two sisters, beginning when they were 12. MJ’s right: when the whole truth of this badly kept secret comes out it’s going to look like he got off very lightly. I mean, if it doesn’t seem so already, knowing just the above.

Someone at ESPN

has a sense of humour. Can you guess which player profile you get to using this link: http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?statsId=666? That’s right – player profile #666 links to Miroslav Satan!

I returned home

February 11, 2002 by Michael Boyle

I returned home

from New York this morning following a long weekend with family and friends. Of course I spent most of my time out and about, but I am a freak for the Winter Olympics, so I tried to sneak a peek as much as I could as well. It was a big shock. I knew how crappy the NBC coverage was since I get the network at home, but in other years I didn’t have to rely on it – I could just switch to the CBC to get a real view of the Games. In NYC of course I didn’t have that option, and the shortcomings I’ve noted before about NBC’s coverage were all the more annoying.

The opening ceremonies

August 4, 2001 by Michael Boyle

of any sports event really sucks. How on earth did anyone decide that making up some lame, watered-down “myth” and acting it out with thousands of people wearing spandex (and usually with faux-native drums of some sort) over the course of a couple of hours could be a good idea? They usually border on the offensive, in fact, when they’re not simply embarrassing.
