Doubtless the only grain silo cited by Le Corbusier as a masterpiece of modern architecture, I bet it’s also the only one that has become a massive musical instrument.
Just found a great
site about the history of Montreal, particularly about the areas surrounding the Lachine Canal. It’s called Industrial Architecture of Montreal, and it comes from the Blackader-Lauterman Library at McGill.
Yesterday at Harrumph
: the slipper strategy, or rather, why small dogs come in pairs. This is quite possibly the pinnacle of personal/anecdotal commentary on a personal site. At least of the light variety.
The headline is terrible
but the news is as expected: Judge Orders Napster to Eliminate Copyright Songs. Of course we all know that all songs are under copyright. I think they mean “copyrights owned by the major labels”. The Wired News story is better.
I’m proving to be
the slowest guy on the planet – I’m still plodding away at montrealstories.org. Demonstrating this fact: Seattle Stories has gone live. But flipping the focus away from myself, Seattle Stories looks terrific. With it, amsterdamstories.com and bostonstories.org all live now, the citystories network is starting to fill out very nicely.
