, Ed has started up YULblog, all about Montreal and the fledgling new media industry here. So far it looks pretty good, and if I can find some time, I might even ask Ed if I can contribute.
Home again home again
jiggety jig. I got back home from Minneapolis this afternoon after a fantastic, though short, trip. The main goal of my trip was to relax and to visit with someone very close to me, both of which were accomplished very successfully. We also managed to get an excellent group together at a place called the Loring Cafe last night – dinner first then more people met us for drinks outside later on. It was a really great time – everyone there was up for a good night.
I liked Minneapolis quite a bit – it’s a pretty neat city. But truth be told, there’s nothing quite like coming back to Montreal. This is home.
Oh, I forgot to
point out the little red chili peppers beside the send button. That’s the symbol.
Before I go
I’ve been meaning to make note of a new feature in the new Eudora beta: hot and spicy filters. It (optionally, thank goodness) lets you know if you’ve included hot and/or spicy language in your posts. It’s quite ridiculous.
So I’m on vacation
for the next week. Much needed – but not too many updates coming until next Sunday when I return. I’m headed to Minneapolis, which promises to be a grand time, due mostly to the company I’ll keep there. I leave Tuesday morning early, so I may write a bit tomorrow, but then again even for a simple week away I have lots of details to take care of during the day tomorrow:
- return the “Being John Malkovich” DVD I rented the other night
- go to the regie to check on a possible health card mixup
- finish up something I’d not completed to my satisfaction at work (but I can do it here)
- send my old video card to ATI so they can update its BIOS, which will allow me to drive my secondary monitor
- answer a dozen emails I’ve let sit too long, plus one postcard
- arrange for flowers to be sent for a friend’s birthday late next week
- laundry
- pay my car insurance
- etc.
