I just heard a piece

on the radio about the fact that there are dozens of stray cats on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, and that they’ve put up a special cat house on the hill that they can live in. I’d always heard that it was a longer story than the site says though – that they released hundreds of cats in the 1870s to combat a huge rodent problem, and that the result was a huge population of feral cats in all the parks around, including down the cliffs behind the Center Block. Either way, it’s kind of odd.

annual Christmas trek. This time it’s easy – Montreal to Ottawa, Ottawa to Mont Tremblant, Mont Tremblant back home – 2 hrs each leg of the journey. So – Merry Christmas to all who celebrate. Eat, drink, and be merry.

Thanksgiving back at the homestead in Ottawa. I ate far too much turkey and stuff – as one would expect – and had a fantastic time. It’s weird when holidays here are on different days than in the US – cause on a day like today (cold and cloudy) I’d love to kick back and watch a movie on TV or something – but all that’s there (mostly) are the regular soaps and stuff. Maybe go shopping instead.

Featured lyric: “Hey there Tipper, try to censor this/ ‘fuck you fuck you fuck you eat shit'”. I love the classics.

surpise: Peru’s Fujimori Calls New Elections, Will Not Stand As Candidate. I’ve always half-followed Peruvian politics. Which is weird except if you know that I grew up around the block from the Peruvian Embassy house in Ottawa, so at a very young age I developed a mild fascination for Peru and it’s politics.
