I missed a couple of things

June 13, 2000 by Michael Boyle

yesterday. First is that Jezebel turned four, which is pretty damn cool. Congratulations, Heather.

The rest (for those of you that were here earlier)? Bowdlerized! Shamelessly removed. Suffice it to say that a) I think Jason Kottke has a point and I hope he isn’t shouted down; b) I like the weblogs and other personal sites that I visit regularly (mostly those on the right) as they are today; c) I don’t think that novelty or innovation is of greater value than many of the other qualities that good weblogs possess.

I’m in a nice neighbourhood

June 7, 2000 by Michael Boyle

now. My Webloggers ring neighbour to the right is none other than Mr. Joe Utsler, aka Crazy Uncle Joe and the venerable host of Metacubed, the meta weblog for meta webloggers. To the right is a very green Prattle, from Toronto as near as I can tell.

There have been a rash of

new designs lately on weblogs I read. The absolute latest is Swallowing Tacks. It’s a very hep look now. Very tiki lounge, very late 50s but not in that rocknroll way, in the “mass media trying to be hip like those pesky beats” way. Which is a compliment, BTW.

A quick shout-out

May 30, 2000 by Michael Boyle

to fellow Montrealer Aaron, whose A boy and his basement weblog is consistently an excellent read.

That’s not to take anything away from the others here in Montreal – Passerby, Ed, or Vanessa. Or from a nice new Montreal weblog, Flights of Fancy.
