The election campaign

September 5, 2000 by Michael Boyle

is getting weirder and weirder. Mostly cause of G W’s seeming embrace of big government. Whether it’s the military, prescription drugs, education, health care (in general), or, I expect, a number of pronouncements to come, Bush keeps suggesting to spend spend spend. Trouble is that it’s cynical as hell, and irresponsible, cause it’s doubtful that he can pay for it – leastwise with a flat tax like Steve Forbes (likely in a Bush cabinet) would love to bring in.

: Pay more atttention to FEED Magazine. I’ve been reading Feedmag since it was founded in 95, but I often neglect to go by for weeks at a time, which is stupid of me. In terms of online magazines, it’s the smartest thing going. Actually, in terms of magazines in any format, it’s as good as I’ve found.

a regular part of my updates recently to comment on other weblogs’ commentary, but Brig Eaton’s comment on eatonweb, that it might all be about brand, is worth noting. Brand is an ever increasing part of the mix of things that make up the value of products, at least in North America and Europe. So, contrary to what I understand Jakob Nielsen writes, there may be value in extending a brand through “wild” design. I do realize that this might be the most obvious and even trite post in the world, by the way, to most people who read here. Not quite sure why I’m writing it.

Interesting article

today on A List Apart called Beyond the Browser discussing what’s coming with several important technologies. It’s good – it doesn’t go too far (as I tend to do).
