5 minutes of Diner the other night, which features Bobby Darin singing Beyond the Sea. I’ve had Charles Trenet’s original version – La Mer – in my head ever since. It’s a nice song, but damn.
I’m listening to the afternoon
phone-in on the CBC. It’s about this kid, ranked 10th or so, who managed to come in third in the steeplechase at the Canada Games – and in his infinite wisdom, decided to moon his teammates when hi got his medal. So the humorless organizers stripped him of his medal and sent him home from the event. Calls are running at least 3-1 in favour of reinstating his medal.

Photoshop tennis match has just ended, this time between Dan Moore and Carl Rush. Fun for the whole family.
A couple of days ago
Peter Merholz (of peterme.com) wrote about Zooming User Interfaces, making particular note of PAD++ implementations, which are indeed quite cool. I couldn’t help but remember Apple’s old Hotsauce project, AKA Project X. It was certainly one of the first examples of something along these lines, and interestingly enough continues to live today, in a way. For an update, visit this note by Brian Duck. It dates back to 1999 and describes how Hotsauce mutated to become part of the RDF spec.
