It looks like Shift

February 19, 2003 by Michael Boyle

It looks like Shift

might finally be closing, according to this TorStar article: Shift magazine publishes its last issue. I was a reader since its original Lit-mag incarnation with the round logo, and although I’d stopped keeping track when the second of the two founders stepped aside, I still think it’s a big shame that it couldn’t keep on going.

That said, it’s Shift – it could just as well be reincarnated as anything else.

A question for readers.

A question for readers.

Prompted by the fact that Ed has added titles, I wonder what people think of the approach that I have taken here, where the titles aren’t used as titles per se, but as introductory text for the whole post. If anyone could comment on this I would appreciate it. [note the bold text at the beginning of each post is nominally a title.]

Note to Condoleezza Rice:

Note to Condoleezza Rice:

You can’t have it both ways! In this article about the North Korean crisis, she is quoted as having said (last Sunday), “We cannot allow the North Koreans to step back into a bilateral discussion with the United States.” Suggesting, of course, that the UN Security Council has to be the body through which the world must communicate with the North Koreans. Meanwhile, of course, she’s at the head of the group doing the most to destroy the Security Council with snide comments and thinly-veiled disdain for a process that she doens’t seem to like.

The New York Times has published

a classy version of the Blogger story: Google Deal Ties Company to Weblogs. It’s nice to see that both founders of Pyra are cited.
