The buzz last week

was high about Neil Young’s upcoming protest album, and the most predictable nay-saying followed a pretty facile script: Neil Young is a drug-addled loser who clearly doesn’t know much about anything, blah blah blah. Today’s Video Dog clip with Young from some entertainment show clearly demonstrates that nothing could be further from the truth were Neil Young is concerned.

six important indie labels have formally withdrawn from their supposed Industry Association, the CRIA. As Geist’s title has it, this is like Removing the C from CRIA, as the remaining member companies are simply subsidiaries of global congolomerates.

of this site has been sadly neglected for a long time, but I continue to have high hopes that I will be able to resurrect it and post longer-form pieces there from time to time. A small step in the right direction is a little thing I just posted called, “True Facts about Ottawa“. If you’ve been following along, you know that I moved from Montreal to Ottawa last summer, having spent my childhood and youth here in Capital City.

Sy Hersh’s new article in The New Yorker is a must-read. It’s all about current US plans related to Iran and it’s nuclear weapons program, subtitled, “Would President Bush go to war to stop Tehran from getting the bomb?” Terrifying, but oh-so-predictable.
