Wired News’

Wired News’

Annual Vaporware Report. I betcha $20 that they held it until they found out what was going on at Macworld. It says it was published at 2am PST, which means that they had plenty of time to see the Time Magazine screwup. Number 1 would have been “Flat Panel iMac” if not for Jobs’ announcement today.

As of right now

(that is 11:02am EST), this version of the embargoed story about the new iMac is still available. But it’ll be a moot point in a couple hours.

Is this it

Is this it

? Time Canada apparently let the cat out of the bag last night by publishing its cover story about a new iMac prematurely. The Time link that several sites referred to is no longer active, but basically the machine is a half-globe with an arm that holds out a flat panel display. I hate to say it, but it’s a little underwhelming.

Spam begone

Spam begone

! I know it won’t work perfectly, but nonetheless I’ve experimented with a couple of the techniques noted by Jeffrey Zeldman today and settled on one method that I prefer. I’ve implemented it here (while also collecting some other scripts that I had kicking around this site), so hopefully that will help a bit. You must have javascript turned on in order to see/use my mailto ref.

at our monthly weblogger’s gathering tonight (it was at La Cabane, not Nantha’s) I met Karl Dubost, newly arrived (returned, in fact) in Montreal from France.
