Come to think of it

Come to think of it

I don’t think I’ve properly welcomed Ed back to the world of webloggers. For those who haven’t read his site before, Ed manages to achieve an almost perfect mix between the professional and the personal on his site. I’m really glad he’s started up his site again in this format (although there was never really any doubt that he would).

It seems that

It seems that

Bill hates Word. I have not much good to say about Word, but my real hatred is reserved for PowerPoint. I don’t know what Ed is thinking, cause in my opinion PPT isn’t slick. It’s barely useable. It’s formatting options are too simplistic, the templates are godawful, and those transition effects are, well, nausea-inducing.

Worst of all though is the lack of transition-ability from Word to PPT. You think PPT would respect Word styles, even minimally, let alone give you the option to define what Word styles go where in a new slide show (which is the top of a new slide, which are the first, second, third level of the outline).

Hey kids

! There’s a new weblog in town. Tom Tomorrow, creator of This Modern World seems to have started his weblog as the natural extension of the journal he started just after Sept. 11. [via Matt Haughey]

! Good luck Evan. Blogger has and has always had a lot to recommend it. In terms of the user experience, Blogger is still the best out there.

Tasty tasty new design

over at plasticbag.org. I’ve somehow managed not to get by there as much as I used to. Too bad for me.
