any Canadian news sites yet, but just after 3pm today Pierre Elliott Trudeau passed away at his home of prostate cancer. Whether you loved him or hated him and his politics, the politicians around these days seem like pipsqueeks in comparison.

fall has arrived. I could see my breath this morning. I need to turn on my heat at home. I’m wearing a sweater for the first time. The leaves have changed up North, according to reliable reports, and should be well on their way here in Montreal in a matter of days. Oh yeah – and hockey season is about to begin!

A touchpad company

is bundling software (developed in Montreal, no less) that will embed a digital signature in a “token” which includes the actual image of the pen-n-ink signature itself. So the form factor will probably work – the digital signature won’t look odd – and the system will be easy to access – just use the trackpad built into your laptop. Hmmm.
