In Metafilter this afternoon

JJG linked to an article about an important court case. Unfortunately the guy quoted in the article doesn’t seem to have a clue.

I think this stuff might indicate yet another of the divisions between dotcom people and web people, as Meg wrote about in her great entry the other day.

Tonight

I think its time for good old #990000 to make a comeback. That was the actual name of my editthispage design: 990000. But this one needs something more so it may come back and join me here. I have some icons ready to go, but that may not quite do it.

A whole morning

of reinstalling my system software. It was running for days, weeks at a time doing some very heavy lifting. And then today my machine wouldn’t start up successfully.

Hmmm.

April 17, 2000 by Michael Boyle

That worked out fine. Now what happens if I post a whole long thing?

This new design is called “Rodchenko”, after the Russian Constructivist painter, photographer, and poster-maker. When I get time I’m going to write some more about how this whole process worked – I’m not a designer by trade so it’s like pulling teeth to get something I like. Leave it at this: there’s an unused mock-up on my compter called “Surgical” that’s orange and green. Yuck.

Oh – one other thing. This is just the basics. It looks a little empty now – but there are other things to be added this week. Not so much that it gets too cluttered though.
