Google Blog Search. “Google Blog Search is Google search technology focused on blogs. Google is a strong believer in the self-publishing phenomenon represented by blogging, and we hope Blog Search will help our users to explore the blogging universe more effectively, and perhaps inspire many to join the revolution themselves.” Of course they state explicitly that they are NOT just searching Blogger sites.

Search on “Montreal” and almost half of the first four screens are just real estate sites. Most of the rest is Metroblogging Montreal (which is fine), but I saw hardly any other blogs on the first four screens of results!

I wonder how they’ll distinguish though. Even those real estate sites look like they’re professional real estate industry blogs.

Should the system distinguish between yours or my blog and a professional blog?

No, but you have to wonder how they rank them. I’ve been posting about Montreal for almost five years, yet a bunch of real estate blogs — which are likely quite new — trump that?
