It’s being celebrated in Montreal by the closure of a chunk of the downtown core between 10am and 3:30pm, compared to Paris where four full arrondissements have been shut to traffic. But compare also with other Canadian cities, where (for the most part) they held street parties on Sunday – a far cry from shutting things down on a work day.
