Just announced in Paris: the iMac G5. The whole computer’s inside the screen. Not sure if it’s for me, but a lot of people will love this.

Yeah, like me f’rinstance! It’s awesome!
Mind you, it’s not so diff from what I have on my desk now — keyboard, trackball, and 17″ LCD. (The box is tucked out of the way, where I don’t see it.) But still, that iMac is very slick!
You do realise it’s just a laptop on a stick, right?
It’s not really a laptop on a stick because the keyboard is separate.
So it’s like my current computer minus the box. Except that my current computer is a Windas machine and not a Mac, but that’s a whole other thing…
Also, I think the components are more gutsier than you usually get on a laptop — although I’m not sure about that. Also, the screen is higher up, at a more natural position than is a laptop screen.
But yeah, it’s pretty similar to a laptop, which begs the question of why haven’t they been building them like this for years . . .
