Corrupt database, possibly due to hitting on some hard disk limits when I changed to daily archives, before the hosting company gave me (for free) a big upgrade.

That’s exactly what happened to my site, twice. It’s an MT-specific problem. I had to apply the same solution, and I still haven’t gotten around to reinstating all the “lost” posts (that luckily survived as archive pages).

Sheesh! Everything imported alright, but DURING the process I got a comment spam! Doh!
