   there’s a great article on the initial unleashing of people who put stuff out on their computer in the mid-80s that hit just the right notes – not too mean, not too nice though either. alas, I couldn’t find the article anywhere (I only have a vague recollection of it anyhow). but the basic point is that it cuts both ways – in the early days you can have some truly horrific results from stuff like this, but in the long run it’s a good thing to enable more creators. we shall see!
