I like Radio Userland

as a product, and I very much respect what Dave Winer is doing by putting the focus where it belongs in the web world at the moment. That said, his critique of camworld today is completely beside the point. He’s right – permalinks, for instance, are de rigueur for a weblog today. By the same token, so is flexibility of archiving methods, something that is absent (unless you roll your own solution) in Radio. Dave’s critique comes off as a cheap shot, and will doubtless only serve to alienate a guy (Cam) who, in my experience, is nothing but generous and sincere in asking important questions and contributing an excellent weblog to the community.
